Sports Medicine

My name is Korie Young and I am excited to be at Dallas Christian. I am here to provide the highest quality care for all students and staff of DC through appropriate athletic training services, communication, and professionalism. I have a passion for the profession and the well-being and education of student athletes and student athletic trainers. My vision here is to not only provide qualify care, but also introduce students to the profession of athletic training through our Sports Medicine Class and student athletic training program. This is an opportunity for students to learn and serve at the same time.

I grew up in Indiana and attended the University of Indianapolis where I received a B.S. in Athletic Training in 1997. I am certified by the National Athletic Training Board of Certification and licensed by the State of Texas to practice. I am also certified by the State Board of Education. My husband David is also an athletic trainer. We have three children, Carter, Karrington and David III. We attend Highland Oaks Church of Christ. We love being a part of the Dallas Christian family!

Each student that wishes to participate in athletics must have all TAPPS and Dallas Christian requirements met before attending any practice or workout. This includes
  1. A current TAPPS physical / medical history on file
  2. TAPPS Rank One online paperwork completed
  3. A new baseline concussion test yearly
You will find links to each of these on the right (or below, if on a mobile device).
